Default Best Chess Blog/Site

What do you find are the best sites on the web for chess?
There is always Chessbase.com, of course, or chesscafe.com. Chesstalk.com has become the board of choice in Canada. What else is out there worth recommending?

Hi Gordon:

When Kevin is not on one of his " cause " tears, and libelling everyone, I find his site quite delightful really. It's somewhat sexist, but one could also say its on the " saucy " side. Some of his historical articles ( chess and non-chess ) seem quite well researched and his command of English is quite good in my opinion. I do not really play over his longer chess pieces - games, tactics, etc. but I understand they are quite good too. I do read it regularly, though sometimes I find it quite offensive on some issues.

The other one I read regularly is the Susan Polgar Blog.

Finally if you want to get pgn games right after they've been played in big tournaments, The Week in Chess ( TWIC ) is very current .

Bob

Check Canadian blogs' collection:
http://www.chesstalk.info/forum/showthread.php?t=1633
(it's the useful thread, which deserves a sticky label.)

Interesting site http://www.chesszilla.com/, which gives headers from various chess sites and new pictures and videos.

Blogs
http://www.chessninja.com/dailydirt Sometimes Mig includes thoughts from his famous friend Kasparov.

http://chessblog.com from A.Kosteniuk ("Nona Gaprindashvili is women senior world chess champion")

Sites:
For the lower rating players, the www.chess.com is the treasure with its forum and articles.

I download games from chessmix.com - there are always some there that TWIC doesn't pick up. One warning - you have to download the current file before it "expires" (on the 10th, 20th, or 30th day of the month) - otherwise it becomes a "pay" site.

Another site: http://www.chesshistory.com . Select "Archives" for much more of Winter's collections of historical idbits.

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread. There were a number of sites mentioned of which I was unaware. Very helpful and informative.

Websites for the following are always entertaining:

<marshtowers.blogsite.com> Reviews, comments and photos of various sidetrips he takes around England.

<www.thechessmind.net> Daily column of the latest chess happenings, with periodic forays into Notre Dame football !?!?

<sverreschesscorner.blogspot.com> The author, who has contributed to a number of opening books, writes sporadically with an emphasis on the Dutch Defence. Averages about a post a week. He also provides coverage from events he participates in, usually round-by-round results and games. His blogs from Thailand last year were quite interesting.

I would add the blogs conducted by Michael Goeller and Mark Ginzburg:

http://www.kenilworthchessclub.org/kenilworthian/
http://nezhmet.wordpress.com/

Always interesting, and there are substantial archives.
